Archive for the ‘Project Update’ Category
It’s been tough over the past couple of weeks trying to find the time and motivation to get this project moving full steam ahead. Between things at work ramping up due to the start of the Broadway season and most recently getting hit with a nasty sinus infection that took me down for 3 days, I’m actually amazed of gotten as far as I have. Of course it doesn’t speed up the process when I’m working with characters that are completely out of my wheel-house either, but that’s half the fun of this project.
Here’s a sneak peek at the first page, which got a lot of updates as of last night.
There are a lot more nightmarish things lurking in the lower half of this page, so I’m holding off showing those until much later in the inking process. I’ll be back at it tonight after work, so long as nothing goes wrong at work after hours as I’m on call all week. I may attempt to broadcast this evenings session, however I still have not tackled how to set that up in my current space.
That’s all for now, Stay Tooned!
Greetings freaks, geeks, and Internet-izens!
I’m on a fast track back to the board now that I’ve gotten somewhat settled in to my temporary surroundings, however I have yet to figure out the broadcasting situation. All of my gear is currently set up in a ‘use-only-when-necessary’ kind of setup and not very long-term user friendly (unless I wanted to draw standing up without a surface). There’s also the complete systems rebuild that I’m about to do as well which will slow things down a bit on that front, but it has to be done.
Onto what I will be working on…
I recently had a retweet by Rob Liefeld come across my feed from Ryan L. Schrodt who is looking for artists to illustrate stories that he has piling up. We’ve made initial contact and I’m waiting to hear back from him in regards to what script he wants me to work on. While I wait to hear back from Ryan, I’ve decided to toss my hat in the ring for Top Cow’s 2013 talent hunt.
I passed this up when they did the talent hunt last year and figured this year I’m not going to let it pass me by. I’m sure the competition is going to be stiff given that this publisher employs the likes of Marc Silvestri (artist and CEO) , Matt Hawkins (writer/artist/COO) and publishes highly popular titles like The Darkness and Witchblade, but I’m going to throw everything I have at it regardless. Never going to get anywhere with my talents if I don’t put them out there.
I’m actually rather excited regarding these two opportunities and getting back to doing some focused work that actually has some sort of direction intended. That’s about all the update I have at the moment. I plan to get started on the talent hunt sample script this week if at all possible so I’ll keep everyone posted on the progress.
